Archana Puran Singh Says, 'Kapil Sharma Show' Affected Her Film Career

Show Commitment Affected Film Work

Actor Archana Puran Singh, who has been working in the film industry since 1987, shared how her long time on 'The Kapil Sharma Show' affected her film career.

In an interview, she said she had to say no to many films because of her tight schedule. She even got an offer that needed a 25-days shoot in Scotland, but she couldn't go because of the show. Earlier, they used to shoot around 100 episodes a year, which left her with no time for films. After some time, filmmakers also stopped approaching her.

OTT Shift Gave Her Freedom

Archana said things changed after the show moved to Netflix. Now it is shot season-wise, so she has more time to travel and take up new work. She said she is happy with this change as it gives her more freedom.

Later, talking about Toaster, Archana shared that her role came after working with Rajkummar Rao in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. She said Rajkummar saw her work there, and that helped her get this film. She now hopes Toaster will bring more film offers.

Still Not Seen As Serious Actor

Archana also said that even after so many years, people don't see her as a serious actor. She said many still think she is just someone who laughs on a chair, which affects the kind of roles she gets.

Her TV Journey

Archana joined The Kapil Sharma Show after Navjot Singh Sidhu left in 2019. Before this, she was a judge on shows like Comedy Circus, Comedy Classes, and India's Laughter Champion.
