Apoorva Mukhija Lashes Out at Airline For Denying Exit Row Seat, Calling Her "Disabled & Sick"

Apoorva Mukhija, aka The Rebel Kid, has called out an airline for what she described as an offensive and humiliating experience at the airport. She took to Instagram to share her frustration after being refused an emergency exit row seat allegedly because staff assumed she was unwell or had a disability based on her looks.

The incident reportedly happened on Monday, when Apoorva, running on zero sleep, approached the check-in counter hoping for a more comfortable seat. Instead, she was stunned by the response.

“I am catching a flight on zero sleep (no surprises there), but I asked for an emergency seat, and the woman at the counter said we can't give it to disabled bodies????" she wrote in her Instagram Story, adding, “I was like, WTF??? I am fully able (at least physically), and she was like, ‘You are sick.'"

Apoorva further revealed how she reacted to the situation, saying she questioned the woman's judgment.

“I was like, Kisne bola aapko? And she said, Aapki shakal dekh ke lag raha hai," she wrote, shocked. “And when I was offended by this conversation, she was surprised??? And she also got offended???? LIKE???"

This isn't the first time the influencer has found herself in the middle of an uncomfortable public situation. Earlier this year, Apoorva made headlines after being asked to vacate her flat following complaints from neighbours. At the time, she revealed that frequent police visits, delivering legal summons related to a comedy show controversy, were behind the eviction.

Apoorva told Mashable India's The Bombay Journey, “Building walon ne complain kar di ki, ‘Building mein police aa rahi hai, kitni galat baat hai. Isiliye hum bachelors ko rehne nahi dete, isiliye akeli ladkiyon ko rehne nahi dete.' Fir mujhe bola gaya ki aap jao. Sirf ek saal hi rahi thi uss ghar mein."

Apoorva Mukhija had also revealed that she was subjected to rape and death threats after her appearance as a panelist on Samay Raina's controversial YouTube show, 'India's Got Latent'.
