Anushka Sen On Teaming Up With Grammy Winner Ken Lewis For Chameleon: "Felt Like A Dream Come True..."

Stepping into a new creative chapter, actor and digital star Anushka Sen is now ready to introduce herself as a singer. She has grown from a popular child artist to a leading Gen-Z figure, is launching her musical debut with Chameleon.

The Beginning of Chameleon:

Speaking about how the project began, Sen recalls the turning point with Grammy-winning producer Ken Lewis. “It all actually started last year," she tells HT. “Ken Lewis, who has produced this song and co-written it with me, said that we should work on a track together, and it was such a big honour because he's someone who has two Grammy Awards and so many platinum records. Being able to create something with him felt like a dream come true."

The song she shares is a reflection of her long journey in the entertainment industry and the constant need to adjust to new environments. “The song is inspired by the thought that when I started, things were very different. Every new opportunity or challenge required me to adapt and blend into the situation and evolve. That's why the song is called Chameleon," she explains.

Building the Visual Identity:

Sen says her filmmaking background helped her shape the concept of the music video. “Just like a chameleon changes its colour with the atmosphere, all of us adapt to our circumstances in life. As an actor and someone with a filmmaking degree, I knew there had to be a way to bring those visuals alive. When I was younger, music videos meant everything. I'd wait for new YouTube releases. So to finally create one myself for my fans feels surreal."

The idea also touched upon her versatile style across cultures and projects. “When I say Chameleon is about life and career, Ken and I were discussing, and he was the one who said, ‘You look different in everything you wear, when you're in Korea, you blend in there; in India, you look completely Indian in a saree; in America, you look American.' And I don't even do that intentionally. It's just super fun for me to try different styles, and I am somebody who loves fashion and makeup. So for me to be able to change myself and adapt like a chameleon was also a part of the plan."

Anushka Sen's Career:

Sen entered the entertainment world in 2009 with Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli. That same year, she featured in her first music video Humko Hai Aasha. Her breakthrough came with Baalveer in 2012, where she played Meher, a role that cemented her popularity among young audiences.

Over the years, she has appeared in projects across television and films including Crazy Cukkad Family, Internet Wala Love, Devon Ke Dev… Mahadev, the period drama Lihaaf: The Quilt, and the short film Sammaditthi. She has also been part of multiple music videos.

In 2021, Sen joined ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 11' as the youngest contestant ever. By 2023, she became the Honorary Ambassador of Korean Tourism and started her debut Korean film ‘Asia'.

Her recent work includes the 2024 teen drama ‘Dil Dosti Dilemma' on Amazon Prime Video, where she played Asmara. She will soon appear in JioHotstar's musical series ‘Hai Junoon! Dream. Dare. Dominate.'

In 2025, Sen took on a bold role in the web series ‘Kill Dill – The Heartbreak Club', a gripping campus thriller about a young woman investigating her sister's disappearance. She also contributed to the project's soundtrack.
