The real power of turmeric lies in curcumin, its primary bioactive compound. Curcumin has long been studied for its anti-inflammatory properties, and inflammation, as Singh points out, is at the root of several modern health concerns – from digestive distress to persistent fatigue and mental fog.

In a video shared on Instagram, Singh summed up his belief succinctly: “Underrated, affordable, and already in your kitchen: haldi beats most supplements if used right. Not everything that works comes in a fancy box."

This perspective resonates especially in today's fitness culture, where people often chase novelty while overlooking foundational nutrition.

He explains, “Haldi contains curcumin, and curcumin is a very powerful anti-inflammatory compound, and inflammation is linked with a lot of things like gut issues as well as brain fog."

Thanks to its ability to soothe joints and calm systemic inflammation, Singh even refers to turmeric as a “natural steroid" – a bold claim that underscores its effectiveness when used consistently.

There's one crucial caveat. Curcumin on its own isn't easily absorbed by the body. Singh stresses the importance of pairing turmeric with black pepper, which can increase curcumin absorption dramatically, by nearly 2,000 per cent.
