Photocopies Safely
With increasing cases of identity misuse, sharing Aadhaar photocopies has become a major concern for many citizens. But there's good news—you no longer need to hand out photocopies of your Aadhaar card. Instead, you can now scan and share only the necessary details, protecting your identity from being misused. Digital creator and Founder of Beebomco, Devinder Maheshwari, recently shared his insights on this update—and why it's a much-needed step in the right direction.
Share Only What's Needed—No Full Aadhaar Photocopy Required
One of the most important parts of this update is that you don't need to carry or share your Aadhaar photocopy anymore. A simple scan lets you select and share only the essential details, such as name or age verification—keeping other sensitive information hidden.
Currently in Beta—Full Launch Coming Soon
This feature is currently in the beta stage and is expected to roll out soon. Devinder expresses hope that it becomes widely available, as it's a step toward digital empowerment with safety at the forefront.
Devinder Maheshwari's Take: Why This Matters
We asked Devinder Maheshwari, the Founder of Beebomco, for his take on the new Aadhaar card provision and how it will help prevent the misuse of Aadhaar information.
According to Devinder, “This is a very good initiative from the Government of India because the misuse of Aadhaar data is happening more than we can imagine. It's also very thoughtful. First of all, there's no need to carry the Aadhaar card or share its photocopy with anyone, which was always a hassle. Secondly, you can choose to share only the required information, and not the entire data associated with your Aadhaar, which will help prevent misuse to a great extent.
I hope this becomes available to everyone soon because it's a good move and will ensure better security and privacy for all citizens.”
