Raksha Bandhan 2025: Popular fashion and lifestyle content creator Anmol Dua gets candid about festival celebrations with whosthat360 exclusively. She shares heartfelt memories of the festival, including her tradition of tying Rakhi to her father and nostalgic feelings about making Rakhi letters herself.
Here are a few editing excerpts of this conversation...
What's the most meaningful Rakhi gift you've ever received or given, and what made it special?
I think the most meaningful Rakhi gifts I've given were probably when I was younger, when I used to handwrite my Rakhi letters and spend a lot of time bedazzling them because it was just the most important piece of my heart - reminiscing of all our favorite sibling memories and moments. I feel sad that I don't do that anymore.

What's your favorite way to make Rakhi celebrations more special and memorable?
I feel personalized/custom gifts definitely add a beautiful touch to celebrating Rakhi, your own way with your siblings. They relate to your memories and take you back in time - and are just yours to keep - because they hold value to moments only you know about.

Do you have any unique Rakhi traditions or rituals that you follow every year?
Yes, I've been tying Rakhi to my dad and sister since I was a kid - since my cousins are not always around on Rakhi. And it's something we've continued throughout the years, and now it's a whole thing. So I fully look forward to coming back home and celebrating Rakhi this way, and getting my demanded gifts from them (laughs).
Can you share a heartwarming Rakhi story or memory that you treasure?
Once I was back home at my nani's home in Kanpur, and because we were such a huge bunch of sisters altogether for Rakhi that one time, we decided to not just focus on the brothers, but also tie Rakhis to each other. So, all of us sisters exchanged Rakhis and tied them to each other - like it was Friendship Day! It was so much fun, and a wholesome experience!

Can you share a Rakhi gift idea that's budget-friendly but thoughtful?
This might be more effort - but it's thoughtful + budget friendly to curate a hamper full of your sibling's favorite little things - like their favorite chocolates/sweets + something they would most definitely wear - either apparel or an accessory, and a handwritten card that says how much you mean to them. Maybe some flowers, along with a sweet photo of you together. I think these reminders are important, and we give them way less importance than they deserve.
