It is not a festival but a deep religious experience, maybe something that can occur but once in a lifetime. An 800-Year-Old Tradition

The Jagannath Rath Yatra is over 800 years old. Lord Jagannath, with His brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra, embarks from His temple to proceed to Gundicha Mandir, considered the residence of His aunt. The streets of Puri are filled with joy and devotion. The whole city seems to have been turned into a temple.

Three Grand Chariots

Every year, the three giant chariots known as Nandighosh, Taladhwaja, and Darpadalan are made entirely of wood without the use of nails. Pulling the ropes of the chariot is said to wash away the sins of a person. Hundreds of devotees wait hours in line just to touch them.

Service Through Bhojan Seva

For the devotees' benefit, the Adani Foundation offers a Bhojan Seva, offering prasad to 55,000 devotees every day. The prasad is prepared in a gigantic, clean kitchen and served with love. Even during the Lord's rest in Gundicha Mandir, the service is provided.
