Vikas Gowda, a social media influencer arrested by airport police for reportedly entering the premises and recording videos with deceptive claims. According to the report On April 7, 2024, 23-year-old Vikas Gowda, a resident of Yelahanka, Bengaluru entered the airport around 12:06 pm with an Air India (AI-585) ticket. Further, As per Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Gowda did not board the flight, but roved around the airport recording a video using his mobile phone.

Gowda who holds a YouTube channel (@vikas Gowda1) that has nearly 1.13 lakh subscribers uploaded an airport video on 12 April 2024. In his video, he falsely asserts to have spent a full day at the airport and cast verification on the security arrangements.

When CISF got informed about all this, they filed a complaint at the BAIL police station on 15 April. As per reports, Gowda was arrested by BAIL police officials. And according to the police officials, Gowda deleted the airport video on his digital platform. Along with this, his phone was seized for investigation which can be released by proceeding to the court.

As an officer said, Gowda spent around half his day at the airport. He recorded the video and left. Police found that he did it for only publicity. He did not board the flight to Chennai, even though the ticket was valid.

For misleading security arrangements, Gowda was booked under Section 505 ( intent to incite)  and Section 448 (punishment for house trespass) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation is still underway.
