Surabhi Mehra Breaks Silence on Parting Ways With Twin Samriddhi: "It Was Just For the Show..."

In a surprising twist that left their fans shocked, popular twin influencers Surabhi and Samriddhi Mehra, better known as the viral duo Chinki-Minki, recently announced a professional split. The sisters, who have been inseparable in the world of content creation and television, wrote a note that read, “With a heavy heart, we are now parting our ways as Jodi. We've decided to explore life on our individual journeys from here on."

But fans can rest easy as this is not a permanent break. In an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, Surabhi clarified, “It was just because of this show only. We are entering the show as individual contestants and not playing together. We parted ways only because of the show and for the show. After the show, we will go back to being together. But I was really overwhelmed looking at all the comments on our post. People love us so much."

"You Will Be Seeing a Simple Version of Me..."

The show, 'Chhoriyan Chali Gaon', promises a rustic village-based setup, far removed from their usual glam city life. And for Surabhi, that means embracing simplicity – both in appearance and in lifestyle. “I guess you will be seeing a simple version of me because I don't know how to do makeup myself. I can only do subtle, simple makeup. As for outfits, I am carrying very decent kurtis but also fashionable ones like bomber jackets and street style wear. I don't know how I am going to manage my curly hair, though."

As for the challenges that come with a rural setting, she's trying to stay brave. “I hate mud, mosquitoes, snakes and spiders. Who likes them? Mujhe saaf safai bhot pasand hai, I like hygiene. I don't know waha kya hone vala hai."

"This Show is Going to be Fun..."

Asked whether she's mentally ready for messy village tasks, she laughed and said, “Yes, I am. I have seen videos. My mom is from Karnal, so I have been to a village in my childhood days. We saw horses, cows, and everything. I have been to a village once or twice in my life when I was a kid, but never after that. So this show is going to be fun for me."

As for whether 'Chhoriyan Chali Gaon' is scripted, Surabhi was clear, “No, I don't think this show is scripted. I have no idea what's going to happen. We won't even be having our phones, and I don't know what tasks they will be giving us. Scripted hota to pehle hi bata dete ye log mujhe ki kya hone vala hai but I know nothing at all."

So why did she take the plunge into solo territory? “It's a different concept, that's why I took it up. Also, you have never seen twins before in a reality show in India. It's going to be fun and full of comedy. We might even swap each other's teams."
