Purav Jha Comes Out in Support of Apoorva Mukhija After Jasmin Calls Her 'Mannerless'; Says, "She Has a Bold Character"

Apoorva Mukhija aka The Rebel Kid emerged as one of the most entertaining contestants on Karan Johar's reality show 'The Traitors', however, she was criticized by a few of her fellow contestants for being disrespectful. Earlier, Sudhanshu Pandey slammed her for addressing senior actor Ashish Vidyarthi casually as just ‘Ashish'. Jasmin Bhasin also said that she isn't outspoken or upfront — she's outright ‘batameez'. Amid this, Purav Jha, who shared a good bond with Apoorva on the show, has come to her defense. He said that she has a ‘bold' personality and that her audience really likes that about her.

Purav Jha Defends Apoorva Mukhija:

While speaking with Filmygyan, Purav Jha reacted to Jasmin calling Apoorva ‘batameez' and said, “Har insaan ka ek character hai. Har koi same nahi ho sakta. Theek hai yaar. Apoorva ka ek bold character hai. Apoorva ki janta bohot pasand karti hai us cheez ko. Ab uski janta ko hi ye pasand hai toh uski kya galti hai? (Every person has their own personality. No one can be the same, and that's okay. Apoorva has a bold personality, and her audience really likes that about her. Now if her audience enjoys it, then how is it her fault?)."

He further admitted that at times, Apoorva should be more mindful, especially when talking to someone senior. “But I think in a show where everyone knows each other…It's not like Apoorva is out on the street yelling and abusing strangers. The environment there was already very toxic, with everyone blaming each other. Apoorva tends to take it more seriously, thinking, ‘Now that we understand each other, you should be able to hear me out.' That's just her bold nature," he said.

However, he said that he doesn't feel it's fair to call Apoorva Mukhija ‘batameez'. He said that a balance should be maintained such that she caters to her audience as well, but also ensures that the person on the receiving end is not hurt. “So, you have to keep both sides on the same page. In my opinion, there needs to be a balance between the two," said Purav.

The finale of The Traitors premiered on 3rd July, and Uorfi Javed and Nikita Luther emerged as the winners of the reality show.
