Gauahar Khan Reveals Parenting Equation With Zaid Darbar: "It's 90% Me"

Gauahar Khan has offered a candid look into her parenting journey with husband Zaid Darbar, revealing how responsibilities are shared between them as they raise their two sons, Zehaan and Farwaan. While Gauahar says she handles most of the day-to-day parenting decisions, she credits Zaid for being a supportive partner who always steps up when needed.

The couple welcomed their first son, Zehaan, in 2023 and their second son, Farwaan, in September 2025. Speaking on Aanam C's YouTube channel, Gauahar shared insights into their parenting styles and how they complement each other.

Zaid Loves Spoiling Zehaan:

During the conversation, Gauahar admitted that Zaid has a soft spot for their elder son and often goes overboard when it comes to spoiling him.

“Zaid spoils Zehaan in ways that I can never. Recently, around 10 days ago, he created a play area for him in his office. It's crazy. There's not a single toy in the world that's not there in that play area,” she said.

In contrast, Gauahar prefers a more measured approach. She explained that she believes children should value what they have rather than being given everything at once.

“I'm not that person. I'll be like, ‘One toy at a time.' I don't want him to have everything and think he can just use and throw things away.”

Different Parenting Styles:

She s joked that even the simplest request can turn into a major shopping trip when Zaid is involved.

“If I tell him Zehaan needs a ball, it will never be just a ball. Along with the ball, he'll get a basketball, something else, the cover, that's Zaid.”

According to Gauahar, her husband's generous nature stems from a desire to provide his son with opportunities and comforts he may not have experienced growing up.

“From day one, Zaid has only been about giving him things he probably never had in his life. He's making sure that Zehaan gets more of that and never feels like he has to compromise.”

Taking The Lead:

Speaking about decision-making, Gauahar revealed that she takes charge of most parenting matters.

“Roles-wise, it's 90% me. Whether it's school admissions or other decisions, Zaid will sign the cheque, but he'll never interfere. He knows Gauahar will make the best decision for the children.”

However, she emphasized that Zaid is always ready to step in whenever work commitments call her away. Calling him a “silent player,” Gauahar praised her husband for his unwavering support and said their partnership is built on trust, understanding and balance.
