Content Creator Niti Pandey Makes OTT Debut With 'Waiting Hai'; Says "This Is Just The Beginning"

From entertaining audiences with her hilarious online content to making her mark in the OTT space, creator Niti Pandey has taken an exciting new step in her career. Known for her popular digital persona 'Ladaku Padosan', the Varanasi-born content creator has made her acting debut with Amazon MX Player's comedy-crime drama 'Waiting Hai'.

The seven-episode series premiered on September 16 and has already generated buzz for its unique storyline and strong ensemble cast.

From Social Media To OTT:

For years, Niti Pandey has built a loyal audience through relatable and distinctly desi characters on social media. Her much-loved 'Ladaku Padosan' character became popular for its humour, authenticity and roots in everyday neighbourhood life.

Now, the creator has transitioned from making short-form content to appearing in a scripted OTT project, marking a significant milestone in her professional journey.

A Key Role In 'Waiting Hai':

Directed by Sameer Vidwans, 'Waiting Hai' revolves around the Tatkal railway ticketing racket and follows the intersecting lives of RPF officer Sugam Mishra and tech expert Afroz Hamza. The show boasts a talented cast including Divyenndu, Bhuvan Arora, Kumud Mishra, Vijay Maurya, Harshita Gaur, Sunita Rajwar, Dayashankar Pandey and Yashpal Sharma.

Niti appears in Episode 3, titled 'Yatrigan Kripya Dhyaan Dein'. While her role is brief, it plays an important part in a crucial family dynamic, bringing a fresh twist to the relationship between a saas and bahu.

How The Opportunity Came Her Way:

Interestingly, Niti's casting stemmed directly from her digital success. The creative team reportedly found similarities between the character they were looking for and Niti's widely recognised 'Ladaku Padosan' persona.

The role was cast through Mukesh Chhabra Casting Company and Jar Pictures. Since the team was already familiar with her work, the audition process remained limited. A member of the writing and dialect team is said to have recommended her after watching her online content, following which the director wanted to see her perform the character before finalising the casting.

A Dream Finally Realised:

Speaking about her OTT debut, Niti Pandey shared, "This was my childhood dream come true- to act. I always knew this day would come , I just didn't know when. But honestly, when I got the call, I couldn't believe it. My character Ladaaku Padosan was inspired by the hysterical fights and drama from the galis and mohallas of Banaras, those loud, unapologetic, full-of-life women who never held back. The role may have been short, but I believe every character, no matter how brief, leaves an impact. I am grateful that the team saw potential in my work, and I look forward to many more such projects and collaborations. This is just the beginning !"

Niti's journey highlights how digital creators are increasingly finding opportunities in mainstream entertainment. Rather than stepping away from the identity she built online, her OTT debut emerged because of it.
