Comedian Sharon Verma recently took a nostalgic trip down memory lane as she celebrated four years of living in Mumbai. Through a carousel of photos, she reflected on the highs and lows that shaped her career, offering an honest look at her struggles, achievements and personal growth in the city of dreams.

Sharon's Humble Beginning In Mumbai:

Looking back at the day she arrived in Mumbai, Sharon revealed that she had very limited cash on hand despite having some savings in the bank. “Happy 4 year Mumbai anniversary to me,” Verma wrote in her post.

Recalling her early days, she shared, “4 years ago today, I moved to Mumbai, when I got a writing job at Hotstar.” She further revealed, “Mere jeb mein bas 100 rupaye the, baaki 1.2 lakhs ki saving thi bank mein.”

The comedian said those initial years were filled with learning experiences as she worked as a writer and collaborated with several celebrities. She also acknowledged the people who played an important role in helping her grow professionally.

Mentors And Milestones Along The Way:

Sharon fondly remembered her manager, who helped her gain confidence and present her work more effectively within the organization. “I was bad at showcasing my work, so he would phrase my year-end reviews with me to make sure the seniors knew my ideas,” she wrote. Sharing a photograph of a certificate, she added, “He did a good job.”

The comedian also reflected on the small victories that made her journey worthwhile. Speaking about one of her projects making it to the screen, she wrote, “Best feeling: when 1 out of your 1,738,297 ideas actually got made.”

From Corporate Life To Stand-Up Comedy:

While Sharon cherished several moments from her corporate career, she admitted that daily local train travel was one of the tougher aspects of life in Mumbai. “Daily local commute. Won't romanticise this, made me feel like dying,” she wrote.

However, she found comfort in the stunning office views and the friendships she built during her time there. In 2024, Sharon began performing at open mics alongside her full-time job. The growing passion eventually led her to take a leap of faith.

“Had to quit my job to focus on stand-up full time in Feb 2025,” she shared, alongside a photo from her farewell gathering.

Her candid post resonated with followers, many of whom praised her perseverance and celebrated her remarkable journey from a writer navigating Mumbai's challenges to a full-time comedian chasing her dreams.
