What's the most meaningful Rakhi gift you've ever received or given, and what made it special?

Honestly, as cliché as it gets, I am a victim of getting only lifafas on Rakhi. So now I hope for more money in each lifafa to just get whatever I want, and I guess my gift ideas videos don't work on him. But emotionally, yes, he's there for me every time, and that's REAL “Raksha” bandhan after all? And he says, Do brothers even get return gifts for Rakhi anymore?

What's your favorite way to make Rakhi celebrations more special and memorable?

Jaikishan, my brother, says it's the festival's lighthearted nature itself. The whole family gathered, chit-chatting and exchanging Rakhi and gifts. It's the fact that people take leave to finally meet each other and spend the whole day. I also love how no matter how young or old the brothers and sisters are, the brother has to touch the sister's feet for blessings, even if he cringes, and we make that moment a fun one by teasing and clicking pictures. Small lil harmless banter, you know!

Do you have any unique Rakhi traditions or rituals that you follow every year?

Oh yes, since last year, the brothers have been taking all the sisters out for an entire day and pampering them with shopping, movies, and dinner. It's become like an annual meet-up that we all look forward to, given how busy everyone gets these days. Hopefully, we will turn it into a trip in the coming years. And other than that, a small one, but this is not a ritual; I sing a Rakhi-related song for each brother while tying Rakhi every year, and that always makes them chuckle since I believe I'm the best singer and they clearly don't.

Can you share a heartwarming Rakhi story or memory that you treasure?

I think it's this Rakshabandhan where we are going to reverse roles, and I am going to be his protector because he's down with viral and dengue, and I am taking the doctor's rounds. Not heartwarming, but leaving the Tom and Jerry bond aside and taking full care of him to get well soon.

Can you share a Rakhi gift idea that's budget-friendly but thoughtful?

For sisters: it could go from the easiest outfit pick if you know her size, a co-ord set because which sister doesn't like clothes?... to even a Casio watch, because that's actually stylish and budget friendly too. And for brothers: it would sound cliché again, but men usually don't change their wallets until someone gifts them a new one, so getting them a new wallet would actually be useful. You could also get them a Skincare routine suitable for their face because they usually have little to no idea of how to take care of their face, and it would mean the world to them if you do it for them. Have to finish with a unisex option though, something that either of them can gift the other one, which is extremely THOUGHTFUL! It's the “Gita in a Jar”. You get it on Amazon, and the jar has these shlokas and their meaning based on the emotion you're feeling in chits in a jar. So, if you're sad, you pick up that chit, and if you're happy, you pick another, and the shloka from the Gita helps exactly how you'd want or what you'd want to hear in your life at that moment. I believe it's a very emotionally thought-out and unique gift.
