Adarsh Suyal, a renowned comedy content creator, posted a funny and relatable video depicting a middle-class family's financial troubles. In his most recent video, he discusses what happens when a child begs their parents for money to go on a trip.

When Asking for Trip Money Turns into a Family Budgeting Debate

The scene starts with Adarsh approaching his parents. “Mummy Papa, me and my friends are planning to travel. Will you give me 10,000 rupees?” He asks eagerly. His father quickly responds, “Beta, you know I just got the motor repaired yesterday. That cost us 7,500 rupees.”

The mother shouted, “7,500? He took 500 more this time!” Adarsh, trying to lighten the mood, smiles and suggests, “By the way, a trip can be done for just 5,000 rupees.”

But the dad isn't done yet. “You know the AC in the outer room isn't working. That needs to be fixed too.” The mother adds, “That will cost around 2,500 to 3,000 rupees.”

Realizing he has to negotiate, Adarsh offers, “Okay, just give me 2,000 rupees, and I'll manage the rest.” His mother laughs and says, “2000? If I had 2,000, I would have hired a maid! That would make my life easier!”

Then the dad pipes in, “Don't forget, the plumber is coming soon. We need to pay him 300 rupees.” Adarsh, getting desperate, says, “How about 1,000 or 500?”

His mother responds with a hint of sarcasm, “If I had 1,000 or 500 Rs, I wouldn't have bought a suit. I've been wearing this torn suit for 4 to 5 years.”

In a final attempt to help, Adarsh reaches into his pocket and says, “Here, take this 100 rupees I saved. You both can keep it; maybe it will help you somewhere.”
