- No more cancelled cheque or passbook uploads for PF claims
- Employees can link bank accounts to PF without employer approval
- PF bank details can be updated online using Aadhaar OTP
Good news for employees across India! The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has rolled out major changes to make the PF claim process faster, simpler, and completely paperless. Neha Nagar breaks down what's new and why it matters.
No More Cancelled Cheque or Passbook Uploads:
Earlier, claiming your PF meant uploading a scanned copy of a cancelled cheque or bank passbook, a step that often led to errors and delays. Now, if your bank account is linked with your UAN (Universal Account Number), your name gets auto-verified directly from the bank. This eliminates unnecessary paperwork and speeds up the claim process.
Link Your Bank Account Without Employer Approval:
Previously, linking your bank details to your PF account required your employer's approval, which often meant HR follow-ups and waiting periods. With the new update, you can do it yourself, 100% online. Simply log in to the UAN portal, use your Aadhaar-linked OTP, and your bank account will be linked instantly. No office visits, no delays.
Change Your PF Bank Account Anytime:
Need to update your bank details for PF withdrawals? You can now do it without physical forms or employer intervention. Just visit the EPFO portal, enter your new account number, IFSC code, and verify using your Aadhaar OTP. This ensures your PF amount doesn't bounce or get stuck during transfers.
Why These Changes Matter:
These updates are part of EPFO's digital revamp, designed to make the system transparent, employee-first, and paperless. The benefits include:
-
Faster claims
-
Reduced documentation errors
-
No middlemen or manual approvals
Quick Tip: Always ensure your Aadhaar is linked to your UAN for seamless verification.
With these changes, managing your PF is easier than ever, right from the comfort of your home. Share this update with your colleagues so they can take advantage of the new process!
