Parveen Sharma, a well-known digital creator, recently shared powerful insights about why the Peepal tree (Ashvattha) is considered divine in Sanatan Dharm. In his post, he explained its deep spiritual meaning and how it connects to ancient scriptures and modern science.
Gods Are Said to Reside in the Tree
According to Parveen, this tree is more than just a plant. In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna says, “Among all trees, I am the Ashvattha,” showing its high status. It is believed that Lord Brahma lives in its roots, Lord Vishnu in its trunk, and Lord Shiva in its leaves. That's why it was considered a sin to cut it down in ancient times.
Healing Tree Backed by Science and Ayurveda
Parveen also mentioned that science supports the tree's benefits. The Peepal tree releases a large amount of oxygen, even at night, helping improve the air. In Ayurveda, every part of the tree is used to treat various health issues, from its leaves to its bark and fruit.
How to Worship the Peepal Tree
Parveen outlined a simple way to worship it:
- Wake up early, take a bath, and offer water to the roots.
- Light a sesame oil lamp below the tree.
- Walk around it 7, 11, or 21 times.
- Tie a red or yellow thread around the trunk.
- Chant: “ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय | Aum Namo Bhagavate Vāsudevāya.”
- Sit near it and do deep breathing with a clear prayer in mind.
Best Days for Worship
This practice is especially powerful on Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Amavasya (New Moon). As Parveen Sharma highlights, regular worship can help reduce karmic weight, bring balance, and invite divine blessings.
