- Shillong makes Meghalaya personal
- Lakes, culture, and calm moments
- Rain and waterfalls define it
I am Jayveer Singh, Content Head at Whosthat360, and while Oriflame presents Whosthat360 Northeast Influencer Yatra took us across cities and stories, Meghalaya always felt personal. It was never just another destination on the map; it was a place I had carried in my imagination for years. And when I finally experienced it, Shillong didn't just meet expectations; it made them real.
Shillong: Where the Journey Began to Feel Personal
Shillong wasn't just beautiful; it was layered. The misty roads, the calm chaos of its streets, and the effortless blend of culture and modern energy made it stand apart. As we moved through the city with creators, capturing stories and moments, there was a sense of connection that went beyond content. It felt like Shillong had its own rhythm, and for a brief moment, we were part of it.
Umiam Lake: Stillness Amid the Movement
In the middle of a fast-paced yatra, Umiam Lake was a pause I didn't know I needed. Quiet, reflective, and almost cinematic, it was a reminder that Meghalaya isn't just about movement; it's also about stillness. Standing there, with my team around, yet a sense of calm within, it became one of the most grounding moments of the journey.
Mawlynnong: Where Cleanliness Meets Culture
Visiting Asia's cleanest village, Mawlynnong, wasn't just about seeing pristine surroundings; it was about experiencing a mindset. Every corner reflects care, discipline, and community pride. It made me realize how culture here isn't just preserved; it's practiced daily.
Waterfalls and Rain: Meghalaya's True Identity
If there's one thing that defines Meghalaya, it's its raw, untouched beauty, especially through its waterfalls and rain. The sudden showers, the flowing cascades, and the constant sound of water, it all add to the experience. It's not perfect weather, but that's exactly what makes it perfect.

More Than a Destination:
Meghalaya wasn't just a stop in the Northeast Influencer Yatra; it was a feeling. A place that stayed long after we moved on. And for me, Shillong made a long-standing travel dream feel incredibly real.
