Lalsavunga Park and the Walk Above Mizoram's Hills

Highlights
  • Iconic suspension bridge above Aizawl's hills
  • Wide hilltop views with rare calm
  • Simple, natural setting for slow walks

As part of Oriflame presents Whosthat360 Northeast Influencer Yatra, my journey through Mizoram has been a constant balance between movement and meaning. I'm Jayveer Singh, Content Head at Whosthat360, and amid packed schedules and content runs, Lalsavunga Park in Aizawl stood out for one unforgettable reason: the bridge that makes you feel suspended between hills and sky.

The Journey Beyond the City:

Located around eight kilometres from Aizawl in South Hlimen, Lalsavunga Park feels far removed from the city's everyday pace. Sitting at an elevation of nearly 1,179 metres and spread across vast open land, the park immediately opens up space, both visually and mentally. The drive itself eases you into a quieter rhythm.

The Bridge That Changes Everything:

The defining moment at Lalsavunga Park is stepping onto the long wooden suspension bridge that stretches across the hills. Walking on it, with forest below and layered mountains ahead, felt surreal. Each step slows you down naturally. You don't rush here, you look, you pause, you breathe.

The bridge doesn't just connect two points; it connects perspectives. From the centre, Aizawl feels distant, and the hills feel endless. It's the kind of place where silence feels intentional, not accidental.

A Park Built for Perspective:

Opened in 2018, Lalsavunga Park isn't about crowded attractions or heavy design. The open walkways, viewpoints, and natural layout allow the landscape to lead the experience. The park stretches across a wide area, yet it never feels overwhelming, just expansive.

Learning to Slow Down:

I found myself putting the phone down while on the bridge, not because there wasn't content, but because the moment deserved attention first. Watching the light shift across the hills and feeling the breeze move through the trees was grounding in a way travel rarely allows.

Why It Stayed With Me:

As the Northeast Influencer Yatra moves ahead, Lalsavunga Park stays with me for its simplicity and scale. The bridge, especially, turns a visit into an experience, one that reminds you how powerful it is to simply walk, pause, and look around.
