Tanya Mittal Faces Backlash After Her 'I Want To Wear Western Clothes' Remark

Salman Khan's 'Bigg Boss 19' featured a contestant named Tanya Mittal, who's an entrepreneur as well as a social media influencer. With her quirky personality and big claims inside the house, she went on to become one of the most searched Bigg Boss contestants. Ever since the season ended, she has been actively interacting with her fans online. Her name has popped up during the ugly fan wars, too. Recently, she took to X (previously Twitter) and expressed her wish to wear Western clothes. For the majority of days inside the house, Tanya was seen sporting sarees and traditional outfits from her own brand. Now, she has raised a question on her X handle asking people if they will allow her to experiment with her fashion without getting judgment.

Tanya's fashion choices and GRWM videos have been questioned in the past. During her stay inside the 'Bigg Boss 19' house, she used to talk about her spiritual journey, which would contradict the kind of content that was posted on her Instagram handle. Now, on February 16, she wrote on her X handle, "I want to wear western clothes, shorts, skirts, and dresses. Par kya yeh zalim duniya mujhe apni soch ke hisaab se jeene degi?" followed by laughing emojis.

Soon after she wrote this, netizens were quick to call her out. One user commented, “Jo pehnna hai pehno bas camera band karke pehno." Another user wrote, “Duniya se permission lene ki zarurat nahi hoti…Kabhi kabhi bas apne hi purane statements se freedom leni padti hai." One of the comments also read, “Not sure, people will start judging for sure, bcoz it will be a shocker for them."

Some of the fans came out in her support. They asked her to follow her heart and wear whatever she likes without thinking about the opinions of others.

She recently made headlines after her co-contestant and veteran actress Kunickaa Sadanand called Tanya and her fans out for going below the belt. It all started after Tanya's fans started comparing Kunickaa's son, Ayaan, and Kumar Sanu's similar facial features. Reacting to the remarks, she said, “Really sad and disgusting. Jo families ko target kartay hain, aur below the belt comments kartay hain, who Kaayar aur Fattu hotey hain."

Kunickaa is all set to team up with Farrhana Bhatt for a project. She recently shared the good news on social media.
