Ranveer Allahbadia Opens Up About His 'Terrible Breakup' Days Before 'IGL' Controversy; Here's What He Said

YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia has recently opened up about the emotional chaos he went through during the 'India's Got Latent' controversy earlier this year. The creator said that just 10 days before the storm broke out, he had gone through a painful break-up, something that made an already tough time even harder to bear.

Ranveer Allahbadia Opens Up About His Breakup:

Speaking to actor Raghav Juyal, Ranveer said that his life changed completely after the incident. "My entire life changed. As an artist, I changed. My art became rawer. I've lost too much; I lost money, mental health. Just 10 days before the incident, I had a terrible break-up. I was already handling all that, then this happened. I was everywhere on YouTube, on TV…" he said.

During this time, his rumoured girlfriend, Nikki Sharma, posted cryptic stories. One read, "There will come a time when you lose everything, including your mind. Once you've lost your mind, you'll be left with nothing but your soul, this is when you'll know you're invincible." Another said, “Your body doesn't just reject food; it also rejects energy. If your body starts rejecting certain places, people, or things, trust it and listen."

"It Took Me Three Months To Even Understand..."

Ranveer said he now chooses to keep a smaller circle and focus on inner peace. "I didn't speak to anyone, I just spoke to five or six people, all famous, who've handled controversy. All of them just said, ‘Handle yourself'," he said.

Reflecting on the months after the backlash, he admitted, "It took me three months to even understand what had happened. I feel that things have calmed down only now. The world does this to you and moves on, and then you have to catch up."

The 'India's Got Latent' controversy began when Ranveer asked a contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day or join them to finish it once and for all?" The backlash was swift. Despite an apology, multiple FIRs were filed against him, and he faced police questioning. His work was also impacted, as he was barred from putting out new episodes. The Supreme Court eventually offered him relief, citing his right to free speech.
