Reality TV personality Rakhi Sawant has received relief from a court in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, after a non-bailable warrant issued against her in connection with a 2010 suicide case was cancelled. The warrant had been issued earlier this month after Rakhi failed to appear for court proceedings. However, her legal team successfully sought its withdrawal by presenting a stay order from the Allahabad High Court.

Court Grants Relief:

According to reports, the non-bailable warrant against Rakhi Sawant was issued on October 16 by the Civil Judge (Junior Division) court in Jhansi after she did not appear before the court.

Her lawyer later moved an application seeking cancellation of the warrant and submitted a copy of the Allahabad High Court's order, which had stayed further proceedings in the case. Taking note of the High Court's directive, the Fast Track Court in Jhansi cancelled the warrant, providing temporary relief to the actress.

Case Dates Back To 2010:

The case is linked to the alleged abetment of suicide of a 24-year-old man named Lakshman Ahirwar, a resident of Jhansi. Lakshman had appeared on Rakhi Sawant's reality show, 'Rakhi Ka Insaaf', along with his wife to discuss issues in their marriage.

During the episode, Rakhi allegedly referred to him as impotent while discussing the couple's dispute. Following the telecast, Lakshman's family claimed that he faced emotional distress and subsequently slipped into depression.

Family's Allegations:

After Lakshman's death, his mother Savitri filed a complaint at the Prem Nagar police station. The family alleged that remarks made during the show deeply affected him and contributed to his deteriorating mental state.

According to the complaint, Lakshman later died by suicide after consuming alcohol. The family held Rakhi responsible for allegedly using insulting and objectionable language against him during the television appearance.

Proceedings Continue:

While the cancellation of the warrant comes as a significant relief for Rakhi Sawant, the legal battle is not over. The court's decision does not dismiss the case. Instead, it follows the Allahabad High Court's stay order, which remains in effect.

The matter will continue to be subject to judicial review and further legal proceedings. For now, Rakhi has avoided immediate legal action, but the nearly 16-year-old case remains under consideration before the courts.
