Travel creators Priya and Sid recently joined global creator MrBeast, also known as Jimmy Donaldson, in Ghana for a community-building initiative aimed at creating long-term social impact. The couple spent a week contributing to a project focused on infrastructure, healthcare, education and livelihood opportunities.
Building A Sustainable Community:
Reportedly backed by an investment of approximately $10 million, the village is being developed as an interconnected ecosystem rather than a one-time charitable effort. Plans include homes, a hospital, a school and a marketplace where local residents can sell produce and build livelihood opportunities.
Priya and Sid travelled to the village daily and participated in activities including painting, planting and construction.
Experience That Changed Their Perspective:
Reflecting on her experience, Priya said, “When MrBeast asked us at the 1 Billion Followers Summit if we wanted to come to Ghana, obviously we said yes, but we had no idea how much this would rewire our brains. That week changed us to our core. We're all so lucky in ways we don't even know. What we realised is that there is no one blanket rule for fixing any issues in this world. It's just one person at a time impacting one other person at a time with an act of kindness.”
Why Priya And Sid Were Selected:
Their participation was partly influenced by content they had previously shared, including their blood donation experience and van-building journey.
MrBeast said, “Our plans through this movement aim to inspire an entire generation to take action and create meaningful change that has a clear and lasting impact on communities. We've been doing a lot of work in Ghana, which is where we source our cacao for Feastables. There's over a million kids in illegal child labour in West Africa, and we've been trying to get a lot of kids out of illegal child labour on cacao farms.”
Making Kindness More Meaningful:
For the couple, the project highlighted how creators can use their platforms beyond travel and entertainment.
Sid said, “Donating is a small act that helps many. Jimmy saw our blood donation video and our van build series and was keen to have us. I do love building, and it was great to get our hands dirty.”
The experience ultimately reinforced Priya and Sid's belief that meaningful change can begin with everyday actions, while showing how digital influence can help bring attention to initiatives designed to create lasting impact.
