Farah Khan Reveals Sania Mirza's Struggle With Panic Attacks Post Divorce

Tennis icon Sania Mirza has recently opened up how she coped with emotional struggles as a single mother following her divorce from her husband, Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik. In a heartfelt chat with YouTuber and filmmaker Farah Khan on her YouTube show 'Serving It Up with Sania', the sports star discussed one of the lowest moments of her life.

Farah Khan Appreciates Sania's Strength as a Single Mother:

During their candid conversation, Farah Khan had a lot of good things to say about Sania. She praised the latter for being able to juggle raising her son, Izhaan, her work, and her other commitments all by herself. The director said, “Now you are a single mother. I am sure there is nothing more difficult than that. It is very hard indeed. We each have our own journey, and it is up to us to decide what is best."

In conjunction with these events, Sania accepted that managing work and motherhood has been challenging and that she has never taken the road lightly. She brought up the time when she was having a panic attack, and Farah's calmness was the reason she got through it.

"I Was Shivering," Recalls Sania Mirza

Sania explained, “I don't want to mention it on camera, but there was a moment that was one of the lowest moments when you (Farah Khan) showed up on my set, and I had to go on a live show after that. If you had not come there… I was shivering. And if you would not come there, I wouldn't have done that show. you told me, ‘No matter what, you are doing this show.'"

"I Have Never Seen You Get A Panic Attack..."

Farah Khan also talked about that emotional episode and how she remembered feeling very concerned for her friend. "I got so scared. I have never seen you get a panic attack. I had to shoot that day, but I just left it and came here in my pyjamas and chappal," she added.

Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik got married in April 2010 in Hyderabad, and in October 2018, their son Izhaan was born. After years of rumours, in January 2024, Sania's family, through an official statement, confirmed the divorce of both Sania and Shoaib.

It was before he got married to Sania that Shoaib was said to be married to Ayesha, and after that, he divorced her. Following the separation from Sania, Shoaib married a Pakistani actress, Sana Javed.

Despite all the upheavals in her personal life, Sania is still committed to her career and child. She has also been very vocal about the challenges of mental health and emotional well-being, and this, in turn, has drawn in readers who see her as a beacon of light for women.
