Dipika Kakar Faces Health Issue; Cyst Recurrence Raises Concerns Amid Cancer Battle

Popular television actor Dipika Kakar is once again going through a tough phase in her health journey. The actor, who has been battling stage 2 liver cancer, recently underwent another surgery in March after a 1.3 cm cyst reappeared.

The recurrence has left Dipika emotionally shaken. She revealed that the situation has increased her anxiety, as she now constantly worries about her health and the possibility of the cyst returning again.

What is Cyst Recurrence?

Cyst recurrence happens when the cyst sac is not completely removed during treatment. A cyst forms when skin cells or oil glands get trapped under the skin, creating a sac filled with fluid or keratin. If even a small part of this sac remains, it can refill over time, leading to another cyst.

Although cyst removal is usually considered a permanent solution, in some cases, it can return months or even years later.

Dipika Opens Up About Her Struggles

In a recent YouTube vlog, Dipika spoke honestly about how her illness has affected her daily life. She shared that fatigue and hospital visits often make it difficult for her to spend quality time with her young son, Ruhaan.

She also mentioned that her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim, has been managing a lot during this time, while she focuses on recovery.

Dipika admitted that the recurrence of the cyst has deeply affected her mentally. She feels scared and overwhelmed, especially as doctors are still deciding on the next steps in her treatment. Despite this, she is trying to stay strong and positive.

A Long Health Battle

Dipika's health struggles began earlier when she underwent surgery for a stomach cyst on February 23. Before that, in June 2025, she had a tumour removal surgery as part of her cancer treatment.

Since then, she has documented her journey through YouTube, sharing her experiences with chemotherapy, recovery, and emotional challenges. Her honesty has helped fans stay connected and supportive throughout her journey.

Career and Popularity

Dipika became a household name with her role as Simar in the hit TV show Sasural Simar Ka. She later appeared in popular reality shows like 'Bigg Boss 12', which she won, along with dance shows such as 'Nach Baliye 8' and 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8'.
