Bhagyashree Falls In Love With Lucknow's Tehzeeb, Food And Chikankari Shopping

Bhagyashree recently spent time in Lucknow and came away with cherished memories of the city's culture, hospitality, food, and shopping experiences. From relishing local delicacies to exploring the city's iconic Chikankari craftsmanship, she embraced everything that makes the City of Nawabs unique.

Sharing her experiences, Bhagyashree spoke about the warmth of the people, the city's timeless charm, and why every visit feels both familiar and new.

First Stop: Food And Shopping

For Bhagyashree, a trip to Lucknow is incomplete without indulging in two of her favourite activities: eating and shopping. “Eat and shop! Honestly, every time I experience Lucknow differently and yet it feels familiar,” she shared.

Explaining what draws her back to the city, she added, “There is something very special about the city the tehzeeb, the warmth, the food, and the unhurried charm. Every time I come here, I see its beauty differently.” The visit allowed her to reconnect with the city's cultural richness while creating new memories along the way.

Nawabi Hospitality:

One aspect of Lucknow that left a lasting impression on Bhagyashree was the city's renowned hospitality. Reflecting on her interactions with locals, she said, “The people here are incredibly gracious and welcoming. There is a certain softness in the way people speak and interact, and that is something I deeply appreciate.”

She also fondly recalled how food often accompanied shopping trips. “Every time I go to shop, I am happily offered the delicious Lucknowi chaat, paani ke batase and kulfi with pehle yeh khaiye.” According to Bhagyashree, this warmth and generosity perfectly capture the essence of Lucknow.

Savouring The Local Flavours:

The culinary experience turned out to be one of the highlights of her visit. From famous street food stalls to celebrated restaurants, Bhagyashree explored a wide variety of local flavours. “I did get to enjoy some outstanding biryani, chaat, and paani ke batase... The street food is as good as the high-end cuisines. It is the love with which it is prepared and served,” she shared.

She also appreciated the way younger chefs are reinventing traditional dishes while preserving the city's culinary identity. “The legendary eateries are legendary for a reason, but I also enjoy discovering how younger chefs and newer restaurants are interpreting the city's culinary heritage,” she said.

Chikankari And Cherished Memories:

No visit to Lucknow would be complete without shopping for the city's famed Chikankari creations. Bhagyashree gravitated towards elegant pastel sarees and comfortable kurtas, picking up pieces for herself as well as her loved ones. “Chikankari makes for such a beautiful gift because it carries a piece of Lucknow's craftsmanship with it,” she explained.
