2. Examine the Texture

Quality leather should display a natural texture with the marks of grains and pores. Leather that is too smooth or perfect might be genuine leather or even a synthetic material. True leather will feel rich and unique to the touch.

Real leather smells earthy, while pure leather smells like chemicals. If the product has chemical smells, it might have been processed too much and is probably not true leather at all.

4. Ask About the Source

Typically, high-end stores often give details on where the leather comes from and how it was tanned. If your seller cannot give you the information, it may be a warning that they are selling lower quality.
