Digital creator Alfiya Karim Khan recently attended Paris Fashion Week and shared her experience with WhosThat360. In this quick conversation, she talks about her first-time nerves, behind-the-scenes surprises, and all the new perspectives she gained.

Your first Fashion Week experience must have been a whirlwind! Was there a particular moment that made you nervous or a behind-the-scenes glimpse that made you say 'Wow, this is really happening!'?

Attending fashion week in a different country is a whole new game. Apart from the pre-prep concerning outfits, looks, and mood board, executing all of it wasn't very easy. The first show specifically had me so nervous that I kept waking up the previous night paranoid about not being late for it. I could just not eat anything until it was over. However, it all became smoother and easier soon after the first show itself.

Did anything about this trip change the way you think about fashion shows? What surprised you the most about the experience?

Experiencing a fashion show firsthand is truly magical, as when the models walk down the runway with the final pieces to the music, it hits you differently. The amount of coordination, teamwork, and timing that goes on backstage to pull off a smooth show is something to take lessons from.

What was the most memorable part of your trip to Fashion Week? 

I think the most memorable part was the adrenaline rush before every show. From doing my hair and makeup for the looks, shooting with a new production team, vlogging simultaneously, and managing so much at a time, the satisfaction after ticking off attending 3 shows in a day was a whole different feeling.

Besides amazing outfits and memories, what's one thing you're bringing back – a new skill, a fresh perspective, a trend you can't wait to try?

I definitely gained the skill of multitasking and time management.
